hello everybody. wanting to say thank you to all who have purchased the eps over the past month or so. i've had a seriously good time putting them all together for you. it's very satisfying laying peter (our youngest) down for a nap and "getting to work", in the basement, creating these little snowflakes. i'm also thankful for the letters you have sent through myspace and sarahmasen.com. you have all made me to feel like i am not "packed like sardines in a crushed tin box", with your lift up words of encouragement and yee-haw. as synge said, "all art is collaboration". i say you all are collaborators; listening, writing, being. i thank thee.
so, what is to come? well, for starters, i am painting my house. for second-ers, i'm continuing to record on monday nights with my friends todd and tony of the band
BULB. i've been singing and playing with the band for a while now and am very grateful for their collaboration. you will love the music. tony's melodies are sountracks for nightswimming AND the future. todds lyrics are prayers for the morning headlines AND crazy-prevention. i'm not worthy AND i'm completely in love with the two poets. (see the bottom of this blog for CDs.)
in family news, david is writing another book while starting a phd program at vanderbilt university (i seriously wonder if he has super hero dna in his blood to accomplish all of this...and he does it really well). dorothy, 8, has retired from writing poetry (i can't blame her, it's a tortured life) and has taken up being in a band called "the naborhood nabors". look for their single, "fight the shrieking pink" on the sight soon. sam, our second, is learning to read and enjoys the number 5. peter, three, is batman and usually not dressed- an all round busy fellow saving lives one flash at a time. we are grateful for our extended families in detroit, san diego, and nashville, who we continue to be amazed by and learn more from and about. They keep helping us become who we think god has made us to be. And again, we are not worthy. Super grateful.
Thanks again everyone and i'll be writing again in a while to fill in the next chapters. more music, more lub, more life. everybody to the limit.
