Hey folks,
How goes it? Just wanted to give an update on the state of the band.
First of all, we want to thank everyone who helped out with the new CD. Those of you who contributed will have the CD in your hands by the middle of next week. The pre-purchase/donation idea worked out well, and almost all of the expenses of a new CD were covered. We can't thank you all enough. For now we have a photocopied thank you list/lyrics as an insert. That will be replaced by a 4 panel insert done by the folks who did the artwork for the rest of the CD, and will be sent out to the folks who contributed when we get them in (probably won't be until the Fall.)
The CD - "Desire to Burn" will be available via mail order starting in a couple of weeks. We want to make sure that everyone who pre-ordered get their copies first. We're happy with the way the CD came out, we hope you all dig it as well.
Chris "Chinks" Schnabel and Matt "Hashbrown" Shankle have left the band. They had to take some time off from touring and wanted to concentrate solely on their band - "The First Wave." We wish them nothing but the best. We did 108 shows with them, and they brought the rock - night after night after night (it would get redundant if I wrote that 108 times, but you get the point.) We'd like to thank them for their service to the band over the last 9 months or so. We have a few people in mind to replace them, but if you know of anyone who may be interested, have them drop us a line.
Originally we had planned to do our normal US Fall Tour, but a few weeks ago we decided it was best to wait until Spring 2009 to do our US record release tour. This idea was then cemented when we were in a position to find a new drummer and bass player. So, we'll be coming through the US starting at the end of February or early March. Sorry for the delay, but we don't want to do a half-assed tour. 100% or nothing - every night.
I will be going out this Fall to do some touring with my other project - the Street Corner Matadors (www.myspace.com/marklinskey). So hopefully we'll still see some you folks on the road. (I really have a hard time going this long not being in South Dakota, Texas, or anywhere else across this great land.)
One other piece of merchandise news. Last Punk Rockers Records out of Leipzig, Germany released our 2nd full-length "For Those Whose Hearts and Souls are True" on vinyl. We want to thank Martin for doing it, and we look forward to working with him in the future to vinylize (not sure if that's a word) some other Falcons' releases.
We look forward to seeing you in the Spring. And thanks again for everyone who helped out with the funding of "Desire to Burn." Take it easy.
Stay hard, stay hungry, stay alive,
Mark
