Random Morning Thoughts:
I got in an argument with a budding neo-con. I feel alive again. The argument was productive--it wasn't like so many of the petty political squabbles I've seen in recent months. At the end of the conversation we understood each other. Admittedly it was a little disconcerting hearing our country's future argue on behalf of George W. Bush and John McCain.
Budding Neo-Con believes the military's sole responsibility is to blow shit up. "BLOW SHIT UP!" he said, slamming a fist into an open palm.
I have exposed to a lot of polling data lately, and I wonder, Who are these people who disagree with me? Where are they located? Why do I never meet them? Sure, I meet them on message boards and the internet, but the majority of people I meet believe the economy is shit and George W. Bush is a giant douche. (I don't talk politics with the majority of people I know; there's no point in preaching to the choir.)
It felt good to have a healthy debate.
Yes, my new morning coffee shop brings me something my old coffee shop didn't: diversity.
