Ashland Kentucky based Rocker and guitarist of Hydrogyn Jeff Westlake has announced the formation of his new band COLLAPSE THE EMPIRE.

"This is another outlet for me and is nothing like HYDROGYN at all" explains Westlake from the studio working on the new music for CTE. Along with Westlake is frontman Justin Johnson fresh from his own band DOG SOLDIER based out of Charleston West Virginia.

"I ran across Justin through The Fabulous Dancing Pig from Sheered Lepus and was just blown away at his style and vocal range." " It was something I had been looking for and not having any luck at all and then all of the sudden there it was."  Westlake went on to say that CTE is in no way going to slow down HYDROGYN and what it was doing and that the two will live together and possibly tour together even.

Westlake is enlisting Chris Sammons (whom Westlake has been writing with for this releasae for some time) and Josh Cumberland from Hydrogyn to be in the band as well. Johnson and Westlake have already started writing and have completed the first track for the upcoming release BAK TO KADO for Fall release.

"I am looking forward to this alot and if this first track is any indication of what it can be then we are all in for a great time."

HYDROGYN will be in the studio recording with Metal Giant Michael Wagener starting May 21st for the follow up to DEADLY PASSIONS which will be out in the first quarter of 2010 on DR2 Records.
