Not much is known as to why The Anniversary disbanded. They were dropped by Vagrant and a broke up a few months later. The final message posted on their website was:

February 6 2004, 'Hello everyone. Due to a number of reasons, The Anniversary has broken up. This may take some of you by surprise, but it was a long time coming. We'll be selling stuff online a little longer so buy it up now because their collector's items. Thank you all for your support in our efforts to make the music world a better place. We just weren't prepard for it. Please feel free to check out this website www.theonlychildren.com. It's another project that Josh, Jim, myself, Casey from Hot Rod Circuit, and T.K. Webb are working on. Justin is working on some solo stuff right now. Here's a link to some of his new songs, click.
