so, its going on two years of being an austinite. dont worry my austin friends, i know im an import!! although i do have the name so ha! by the way, sometimes when i tell people my name they look at me like i changed it when i moved here. its funny when you live in a town with so much industry. it wouldnt be that wierd for someone to do such a thing to be more marketable or some crapola like that. not this guy!
ive moved around quite a bit. ive also been playing more and more every week. im slowly but surely getting out there. its been tough trying to re-establish myself out here, but im making progress everyday. its easy to get sidetracked. ive met some great people out here, and also the self absorbed folk that like to change names, and try to bring you down. its impossible to replace my dear friends back home. i know i never will nor will i try. i have my good days and bad. i still have a distance left to run, and aint nobody getting in my way!
the ivison album has been in the works for about a year now......whoa! it WILL be released in the spring of 08. i know all of you are like yeah right, but i promise! i hope you will agree that the wait was worth it. this is the album of my life, or up to this point anyway, so a year aint so bad when you put it in perspective. jayme and i have really been stretching ourselves in all ways imaginable and its been one crazy trip. we got some good songs, good sounds to tape, and im learning more and more everyday about engineering and producing. we started with something like 80 song ideas and we have ended up with 15. we will probably have some b sides. we arent really booking the band, but we have been invited to do some great shows, stubbs, mohawk, lucky lounge, momos, and an array of others. we are going to push really hard once the album is done.....look out!
i miss all of you, and some of you i dont miss, but thats because i see you all of the time! stay true or that shit will come back to you!
love
bryan AUSTIN
