Rewind - its 2001, and I live in syracuse.  I had been a pretty uptight guy - I played guitar in square pegs sure... but I was living in diminished 9th wear your guitar at tit level jazz world my whole life.... and then... one night... it happened.  I lived around the corner from the coolest rock club in syracuse... the lost horizon, and in early september of that year a new band with a hit came to town.  "The Marvelous 3".  I knew one song, "Freak of the Week" as it was a hooky hit and id heard it.  The band was fronted by "Butch Walker", and they put on the best most energetic show I've still ever seen to date.  Absolutely everything that rock and roll is about.  That night changed my life, and changed my guitar height as well.  Butch walker is hands down the best frontperson with a guitar in his hands in the biz... he's absolutely crazy - and he doesnt care if you don't like it.  Sound like anyone you know?
Butch and his hookiness went on to produce other artists such as Avril LAvigne, Sevendust, Bowling for soup, and he also put out a few records of his own. 
Well he just put out another one, and it just came out this week, and he's number one.  Butch never gave up... ever.  He was in bands and on the road years before I ever saw him, and he's still doing it.  He lost everything last year in the fires that consumed alot of california.  Even if your not into his songs - take a lesson in your own life from his:  No one will ever stick up for what you love to do in this world except for you, (especially if its music).... and you'd better do it no matter what it is no matter what anyone has to say to you about it.
