Current mood: hopeful
so i just went to go see the movie 10,000 B.C...
and except for the fucked-up same old same old storyline of the light-skinned messiah with the blue-eyed girl chosen to liberate the dark-skinned enslaved peoples of the world (come on now), and except for the portrayed lack of female strength and agency and voice (nothing new here), i left the theater feeling really very empowered because of the central lesson of the movie:
with solidarity, love, family, courage, hope, spirit & the will to resist, we can bring down the empire together!
no more selling each other out for our own piece of the pie, no more psychological enslavement thinking that the people in power are invincible gods, thinking that we who build the pyramids and skyscrapers and walls can't tear them down.
go cop it on bootleg, forgive the bad acting and writing, and peep the underlying nuggets.
si se puede!
