I've never played any real form of organized softball but I agreed to play in The Richard Karn (Al Borland from Home Improvement) Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament. All the proceeds go to Tacoma General's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and MultiCare Health Foundation so I was all about helping out for that! The game was at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. Chris Egan (KING 5 Sports Reporter...check out his myspace page!) and myself, Tracy Taylor (KJR Traffic Extraordinaire), Jen Mueller (FSN), Bender (Jackie and Bender on KISS 106.1), and a whole bunch of other local media partnered up with Nick Lachey (Jessica Simpson's Ex) and Vanessa Minnillo (Lachey's Girlfriend). We took on Richard Karn, Chris Judd (J Lo's ex-husband), the original Buck Rogers, and other TV and Movie Stars. 

  Okay...I know this is getting boring so I'll just get to the point. Anyway, Nick and Vanessa were great...worked the crowd...caught some pop flies...and signed a lot of autographs (no publicist prodding at all!). Good for them! 

  Anyway, despite the media team losing 14-9, it was a blast! Thank you to the kids from the NICU who came out to cheer us on and share your stories! I was so impressed and excited to help such a wonderful cause.

Note to Richard Karn: I was 2-for-2 with 2 runs. I thought you'd pitch better than that!! :)
