Hello Everyone!

Awhile back someone sent me a questionaire about my life and the Rock of Love experience. Typically I am vague and don't like to answer a lot about my life. I am a very private person. I just thought after seeing the message boards on Vh1, that I would give people a little more insight.

Thank you all for your support!

1. How long have you been a professional model?

I don't really like to consider myself a professional model. I just get paid for people to take my picture sometimes.

2. What are some things you did professionally before
the Rock Of Love VH1 show?

I am a live events dancer. Most commonly referred to as a "Go Go dancer". I dance primarily for indoor concerts and club events. But I have also danced for some outdoor festivals.

My "day job" is as a make up artist. I have been doing make up for over 3 years now.

3. How did you get involved w/the VH1 show Rock Of
Love? Were you approached by someone, did you
audition or what?

I was dancing for Budweiser's Bartender's Ball at Spin in Minneapolis when one of the casting directors approached me. He told me they were casting a "Flavor of Love" type show with the love interest being a big rock star. He told me that he thought I was exactly the kind of girl they were looking for. So I did the audition and the rest is history.

4. What was the audition process like for the show?

Initially filling out some paper work and an on camera interview. After being selected as one of the top candidates you then go through a written psychological exam and an interview with a psychologist, a thorough background check, medical history check, and blood tests. Only after passing all of these things, are you able to on the show. So, contrary to what some want to believe, NO ONE on the show had any STDs.

5. Are you a Bret Michaels/Poison fan?

I am a HUGE Bret Michaels fan! I have been since the first time I saw him on MTV... I think I was around 8 years old.

6. For somebody who has never seen the show how
would you describe the basic concept of the show?

25 lucky ladies vying for the affection of the charismatic lead front man of Poison, Bret Michaels. The ladies go through challenges that will prove them to be savvy enough to be a part of his rock and roll lifestyle.

7. During the auditionioning process or even during
the recording for the very first show would you say
their was immediate compettivness between all the
girls on the show?

I think in order to secure your stay in the house, you had to immediately become competitive. It isn't called "Rock and Roll Sorority"... It's a dating competition show.

8. Have you made friends w/any of the girls on the
show?

I still talk to a lot of the girls that were labeled as being part of the "A Team". I probably talk to Brandi C. the most and yes she is my roomate! Then it would be Heather, Tawny and Lacey.

9. What was your impression of Bret Michaels when
you met him for the very first time?

I thought he was that very polite and nice. I think it goes without saying that he was also attractive.

10. I was curious why you call yourself Bond Girl?

I am a HUGE James Bond fanatic! My favorite is Roger Moore.

11. What was it about The Rock Of Love show that
initially peaked your interest to try to get on the
show?

For me it wasn't about "trying to get on the show". I just thought it would be a cool experience.

12. Do you feel you've been fairly represented on the
show?

I think that they take parts of people's personalities and only show certain things. They have a lot of footage to sift through when you're being filmed for 24 hrs a day.

So, what you see on TV of these girls, is exactly what the producers want you to see. It's a slight manipulation, but that's TV.

I definitely say goofy things and I am a bit of a dork at times, but I also do know how to think and form a complete sentence. I did go to college. The whole "if we put our boobs..." line was me making fun of the fact we look like dumb Barbie Doll girls. I even tossed my voice an octave higher for effect, but that was the character they casted me to be.

13. What do you feel is the biggest misconception
people might have about you after viewing the
show?

Just to reiterate the point I was making with last question. I did go to college, I was an honor roll student, and a foreign exchange student. I didn't get there by being a complete and utterly vapid bimbo. At the same time, that doesn't mean I don't have a sense of humor. I like to have a good time. I feel that I am pretty wel balanced when it comes to that.

Other misconceptions are that I am a stripper and a slut. I am not a stripper. I am a dancer... classically trained. I don't have a problem with anyone who chooses that profession, it's just not what I do. As for being a slut, I am not promiscuous. When Rock of Love started filming (March 2007), I hadn't had a boyfriend in 8 months. I hadn't even been on date with someone since November of 2006.

14. Would you say that you've received more of a
positive or negative reception from people who
have seen you on the show?

For the most part it has been more good than bad. The bad tends to come from very judgmental people. A lot of the bad is very hateful and mean. People make so many assumptions of the girls on this show. It takes a lot of courage to go on a show like this knowing there is the potential that some people will be very brutal. I don't think a lot of the people who say such vehemently hostile comments would want to be put in the same light.

15. Do you have any idea if VH1 has plans for a Season 2 of Rock Of Love?

Jeepers! Are you trying to imply that Bret won't find the kind of girl he looking for on this show?! ;-)

Truly, I don't have a clue.

16. I was curious if during the recording of the very
first show if you were nervous at all? Had
ever been involved in any T.V. shows/or film in
the past?

I've been in front of camera many times, but not under the same kind of circumstances. This is intense. That camera is sometimes 10 inches from your face when you're trying to sleep. Normally you don't deal with that when you're filming a regular show. Cameras normally turn off or you get another take... not here.

17. Do you have any aspirations to act or is your
main focus to continue as a professional model?

I studied theatre and music in college. I wanted to become a Opera singer, so thhe stage was my main goal. Modeling just pays the bills. First and foremost I am a dancer, not a model.

18. Because of your involvement w/The Rock Of
Love show I was curious if you get noticed more
when you're out in public?

I've come to realize my main fan base from the show is young ladies primarily between the ages of 10 and 16. They are the ones that make their mothers come up to me at the mall and take my picture. It's very flattering, but I am just a normal girl.

19. Because of the Rock Of Love show do you now see
yourself as a role model to young women who might want to go into modeling?

Ahh! All the modeling questions. I consider myself a role model for anyone who choses to follow their dreams, whatever that might be.

20. What do you think you will remember most about
your Rock Of Love experience?

How uncomfortable the flooring was in that house! haha!!

21. What career aspirations do you have once Rock of
Love wraps up?

I am continuing to do the same thing as I was doing before. Dancing, make up, acting, and... modeling. It just happens that more people are aware of it.

I thought you were totally great on the show and it's gotta be great to come out of an experience like that with new friends.
That was the one thing that really got me about the show... even the girls on it were judgmental and cruel. Everyone kept talking about Heather cause she was a stipper and that was probably worse inside the house.

I'm glad you took the time to type all of this. It was very thoughtful to the people who flip through the Rock of Love pages.

Kristia,
It's nice getting to see more about you. I did get the impression you very private. It is funny ironic how people view models, go go dancers, and a few others type jobs in the entertainment industry. Use of sex to get places and that they are bimbos. Just pretty faces and bodies. A lot of that is envy and jealousy by people that can't do those kind of work. I know that entertainment jobs require lots of work and very goal oriented people. One has to have a strong will and a never give in attitude. You earn your way. Thank you for sharing of yourself and have fun Kristia....Terry

It sucks you had to actually spell out the fact you're not a bimbo! It was really obvious it was all editing. It seemed like you were just joking most of the time and people take it so literally. Either way it was interesting to read this and learn a little more about you. I had no idea you were a make-up artist! That's awesome! And you can sing opera. You're a winner, by far! I love you! You're such a neat, interesting, beautiful, and awesome girl! And I think, a great role model.

Let me just give this unsolicited endorsement for Kristia Bonita…
I don’t really KNOW her well enough to call her a friend, but I’ve talked to her several times and here’s how I view her:
She’s smart, funny, great sense of humor, sharp, and way too cool and gracious to be that freakin’ pretty. I’ve know PLENTY of Bimbos… and she certainly ain’t one.
The show depicted a barely recognizable caricature of the girl I have chatted with… but one we all took note of …
Look past the pretty, (Okay VERY pretty) package and you’ll find someone who’ll you’ll genuinely like to know.
Just my opinion

I think you are so smart and suuper intelligent Kristia!  And I really admire that, because people typically judge me as a 'dumb' or 'slow' girl but I am most definitely not!  AP/Honors student as well!!  You're an amazing inspiration!

Thank you doll! It's sometimes very difficult for people to accept intelligence and beauty in the same package. Don't ever let someone discourage you.
