Just wanted to drop a quick line to let you in on the latest in the Morant camp.
As some of you know, I've taken a little bit of a sabbatical these last months from touring, and I have to say, as much as I've missed being on the road, it's been pretty amazing to wake up next to my wife, take Emmy out to play fetch (that's my dog by the way), and read the newspaper with a cup of coffee on our back porch.

But even as my domestication has slowly set in, I've felt the itch...

A little over a week ago, I played a show in Seattle at Alderwood Community and it only served to get me more excited about what's ahead in the coming months.

(By the way, you Alderwood folks were amazing! Thanks so much for a great time. Hope to see you again soon.)

So let's see...

We're currently at work redesigning everything, from tour posters for this fall, to a new and finally updated jasonmorant.com.

Not too long ago, Steven Taylor and I did a photo shoot which we're pulling from for almost all of the design work and I'm definitely interested in hearing you guys' feedback on the pics. They're a step in a different direction for me for sure.

What else...

Oh yeah, for those of you who missed the first "Worship @ Workplay" in Birmingham, don't you worry. Daniel Bashta and I are doing another on August 17th. He and I have been talking it over the last few weeks and we're both really excited about the set this time around.

Also, most of you have asked about the new album and when it will be out. I know it's been some time since my last release and believe me when I say, it's coming.

Lyrically and even musically, there's a lot of new ground covered in these songs and so I've wanted to take it a bit slower that in the past to make sure the songs are as great as they can be before hitting the studio.

Anyway, all of that to say, after hitting the road in the fall again, my friends and I are hopping back into the studio to hopefully create some beautiful and moving moments.

Keep checking back for updates in the schedule, we're adding dates for this fall almost every week so while your city might not be up yet, it could be soon.

Hope to see you all in the near future,
jason
