How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? A woodchuck would chuck all the wood he could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood! So can a woodchuck chuck wood?

After what seems like years, we've written another song :O
This one is about Merope Gaunt and her love for Mr Riddle Snr. I've wanted to write a song about Amortentia for a while, and I think Merope's story is the best way of describing what dangerous stuff it is.
After watching HBP, I feel it really missed out by not including the Gaunt's story, 'cause while we get that Tom's an orphan, we don't know that he was concieved by a lie, and I just feel that that's what truly seperates him from Harry.

Anyway yeah, Merope's an awesome character. She deserves many song to be written about her :) Here's the lyrics:

(Verse 1)
You underestimate
The power of true love.
You think you can
Change him with Amortentia.

But you can't,
'Cause love's a magic you can't replicate;
It doesn't matter what potion you make,
He'll never love you.
But you are
Just waiting for this man to fall in love,
And take you away from here;
Away from such a cold and lonely life,
But don't you know that

(Chorus)
He doesn't love you,
In the way you want him to.
Oh, Merope Gaunt, you've made
Such a big mistake.
'Cause he doesn't love you,
It's just an artifical, heartless imitation
Of love.
But, Merope, you can't tell the difference.

(Verse 2)
This just goes to show
That love is something special.
And eventually
He'll see what you've made him.

You'll stop this
And let him make the choice you know he'll make,
You know the action that you have to take
Because you love him.
And I know
That your heart has always been in the right place,
And it seems like such a shame
That after all this your love is still unrequited because...

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
Amortentia
Your only chance of getting out of here,
Your only chance of starting a new life
And living that dream.
But it's not real
And you're gonna find out in the end,
That it's all just pretend,
That it's all just pretend.

(Chorus x 2)
Oh, Merope, you can't tell the difference.

Enjoy :)

This is brilliant! Musically different from a lot of your earlier stuff, but in an awesomely refreshing way. Tres, tres bon!

I agree that the back story of Tom Riddle needed to be told in the movies; those who never read the books are missing out on so much!  Your lyrics are very poignant and perfectly capture the Merope's miserable, lonely life.  I look forward to hearing it live some day.
