ABOUT

The International Short Film Festival Leuven was founded in 1995 and will be organised in 2009 for the 15th time. Every year the short film festival presents year a wide selection of great short films, both live action and animated films, documentaries, experimental work and music videos. The Flemish and European short film competition are the main focus of the festival, that is for many years now thé place to be for Flemish and international film talent. Aside from competitive sections the festival also presents retrospective compilations and thematical specials.


VIDEO

This being a low budget project, Willems decided to travel to Moscow with only one camera. Capturing mainly images of Russian street life, underdog taxi drivers, a military airport and one political leader, the video shows a city changing from communism to kapitalism. Mixing these images with footage of a hostage situation, he came up with the idea of a collage clip. To highlight the rhythm of the song, he combined both photo and video shots. Not for epileptics.
