The Chestnut Box
You've been asleep for years The pillows are stained by decay This small room is dark, unchanging
I wonder if you hear me now Calling your name in my dreams But the walls are thick with dirt
There's a macabre theme here Darkness surrounds even in light These satins sheets left unfelt by your skin
The stone is heavy on your chest It is there so you can be found again But those who come looking cannot see
Are you cold? Are you scared?
I am the one left feeling These things that you should be But you've been asleep for years.
