The band had held a contest with Beatport, charging $4 for stems. Not bad, except the up-charge of $20+ for WAV files at checkout. Then the voting turned out to be a phony pyramid scheme with a whole crowd of members promising votes if you would vote on theirs (right.. but you had to be a member to vote, which didn't help) and some gang of known people within the crowd I'd never heard of, delivering "remixes" which were just their old songs with snippets of Dave flown over with tons of heavy reverb to "mix" it. If Beatport holds any more remix contests, be aware of this before laying out any cash to take part. It's more like playing a slot machine at a gas station than showcasing your music. The house wins.

But hey, it's Depeche Mode. I had fun doing it anyway.
