Who Gives Kudos:

Saturday, May 17, 2008

Now that a week has passed and we've had some time to recover, I'd just like to take a moment and thank everybody who helped to make Pop Mayhem a success. First off, I would like to thank all the bands that played, especially those that came from far away. I would like to extend a special thanks to Boyracer and The Cannanes, who signed up from almost the very beginning, without really knowing most of us involved.  It takes a lot of trust to trudge half-way across the US, or the world, to play a show arranged by some people you don't really know. Thanks to all the bands and people who were willing to share equipment with the travelling bands. Thanks to Jason Shuster for learning 22 Boyracer songs and playing them really well.

I'd like to also thank The Kickstand and Common Grounds for having us, but I would like to especially thank Vicky for opening up for us every morning at The Kickstand, Denise for being so easy to work with in setting up the event, and Nigel for being so flexible.

It took a lot of work organizing and putting together this event, and we (Josh, Pablo, Dan, and Joe) couldn't have done it without some behind the scenes help from Ciera, Tanya, Andrew, Laura, Travis, Carly, Elizabeth, and Heather. Ciera is responsible for the beautiful posters, 7" covers, and t-shirt design. Thanks Ciera.

Finally, I'd like to thank everybody that came out, and hopefully, had fun.
I'm sorry if I forgot anyone.

Love,
Joe

P.S. If anybody has some pictures, or videos of the event they would like to share, please send them to: popmayhem [@] incomplete dot org.

Thanks so much to you guys for putting the festival on! It was great fun! I hope you'll do it all again some time. And awww, heck, we know you guys! I mean we've played with the Brittle Stars and hung out at Josh's house when we were in FL on tour before. --I remember it like yesterday, Josh was sportin' a HUGE handlebar moustache. Very impressive. Not everyone can manage such a feat you know. That alone won our hearts forever. And we've emailed with Dan about Tonevendor for years. We knew you guys could do it!

Love,
Jen
