Hello Friends & Familia,

We are happy to announce that recording is going amazingly well. We are working in NoHo at ‘Entourage Studios’ with engineer Josh Lynch who is also co-producing our new record with Mick. The drum tracking is now complete for our 13 songs and they sound rockin. We’ve also posted a new “In the Studio’ album with lots of photos to check out. Mick used Josh’s Gretsch 4 piece kit with a Pork Pie snare and Zildjian Cymbals. Entourage Studio kind of reminds us both of recording at Grandmaster [where we did our 'A Prayer Under Pressure of Violent Anguish' album back in 2000] or Sound City where Mick and I have both recorded separately in the past. It’s got that killer old school warm 70’s vibe about it and we are having a blast. Josh is so talented and funny, he knows his shit and is great to work with. Everything feels almost effortless and laid back this time unlike our last album recording session which was a bit stressful due to my car accident the night before it began.

We’ve now also got 8 songs complete and they sound massive already with just the drums & guitar and without the bass yet added into the mix. So far, on our new album, Mick has been using his Black BC Rich Mockingbird, Cherry Burst Gibson RD & Cherry Burst Gibson Les Paul guitars along with his Mesa Boogie Stiletto Trident Head and one of his Marshall 4x12 cabs which he has had for 18 years and still sounds incredible. We won’t be posting any guitar photos or video however, until he’s completed tracking all 13 songs. Mick and I have decided to take our time to create this new album and enjoy the process instead of rushing through it like we usually do. We plan to continue through November and hopefully deliver our masters and art to the label in December so we can set things up for an April 2010 release as discussed. We have also been doing a bit of documenting with both video and photos to post with our updates and we plan to put together a separate short film which will include in depth interviews with Mick & I regarding the making of our album for the enhanced cd and bit more of a behind the scenes look at our new songs.

Plans changed this past Saturday so we decided to take the night off for ‘All Hallows Eve’. Instead of recording, we celebrated Halloween this year by surprising our good friends that we have not seen in a while and dropped by their incredible movie set of a cemetery party. With no costumes on hand, we improvised the occasion by getting dressed in up in our favorite outfits [my wedding dress & his 3 piece black suit] and painted our faces to reflect our current moods. Mick was Dressed to Kill  as one of his guitar heroes 'Ace Frehley' and I became my own interpretation of Su Señora de la Muerte as I've been diggin for ghosts while fine tuning my latest stories inspired by death, rebirth & ruina. It was a night to remember in a spooky little graveyard that had a few surprises for us in return but it was back to work in the studio the next day minus the face paint! Mick tracked more guitars and ripped some mean solos while I continued to document and edit photos from our haunted Halloween and last few recording sessions. We apologize for not posting an update sooner here in our My Space blog but as we have been so busy, we’ve been keeping most of you up to date on our Facebook pages and both my BGD blog & our new Media blog @ myruin.tumblr.com which you can link to our main page. Taking things slow has been a nice change of pace for us and we’re looking forward to getting back into the studio this weekend but in the meantime, Mick has put together a ghostly short video for you to check out of our frighteningly fun weekend with music compliments of John Carpenter’s infamous movie!
