Current mood: stoked
Hey all, We just did a show opening for Steel Panther, an 80's metal cover hair band formally known as Metal Skool and let me just tell you it was AMAZING. So it's at the Key Club in LA on a random Monday night and we've heard some hype but, honestly, you can't prepare for this. The night was PACKED with people. None of us have seen so many flashing boobs since that time we saw all of those flashing boobs. But there's something about men in tight pants that make girls expose themselves? (Don't get me wrong, this part was awesome). But, seriously, there were SOOOOOO many celebrities there. We totally saw Kat Von D and her crew and the venue really isn't that big, so we're just standing next to everyone in our booth. But at the beginning of the set, Hal Sparks (of all people! - former Talk Soup host) who now has long, semi-greasy hair gets up on stage and sings a song with them. I think it was an ACDC song... can't 100% remember but he sounded great though he looked a little shy? Then he gets off the stage and Steel Panther pulls up a string of people including the original drummer for Guns N Roses and Journey's newest lead singer! They all did GNR and Journey songs, respectively and it was friggen amazing. Then, as if that wasn't seriously already rad enough, Joey Fatone was standing behind us and he comes out, runs on stage and sings along with the other guys. THEN (yes, there is a THEN), David Cook, last season's American Idol winner gets on stage and does TWO AMAZING covers, they close out the show, and we are in awe. Garrett as giddy and drunk as a school girl at a post-prom party, runs up to everyone, GO TO LA. GO SEE STEEL PANTHER. David
