Every one knows the man. We have all heard the music. But do you remember when you fell in love with it? I know we all have a story. I will tell you mine.

In 2003(I know thats late don't judge me) I was in my dorm for spring break. I stole the Stevie box set from my friend Kev O. It was the background music for my night. Then song "Vissions" came on. I was transported to a place so beautiful and I was so inspired. I had to listen to everything. The lyrics are poetry.  I wanna hear your story! hit me up! God Bless you all.

Ok. This is a good memory. One that I'd forced myself to forget for fear of being judged. I'm coming out! It was "superwoman" by karyn white. My classmates and I would sing this "bumpin' song" on the school bus in the mornings and afternoons. I can hardly recount a morning when we didn't sing it. Later on, I heard "never dreamed you'd leave in summer". I cried sooo hard as stevie sang his heart totally out! I was in love and my sisters were angry!(we had one radio and my mom loved this song too...so it was all we listened to for many hours!) Dang! Remembering is good!

I have fallen in love with it so many times...but perhaps the most profound was back in college....19XX (not gonna date myself)...went to the wiz right at the beginning of summer and they had the crazy sale...all of stevie wonder's albums for $7 or sumptin crazy like that! Broke ASS i was, i had to...and then already knowing stevie of my youth, rediscovering him before I was born in "I never dreamed you'd leave in summer" and again in Visions I found my innervisions which have influenced so many musical decisions since then. I am always finding new things in Stevland Morris....one day I was even old enough and experienced enough to know what he was talking about in Jungle Fever with "Chemical Love!" Thank GOD for Stevie, and discovery and LIFE!

Thank Nicholas for asking the question!

I'm not even going to claim any profound experience. I just remember when he was on Cosby Show. Bad enough I had a crush on Rudy and Denise (and ummm Claire...what can I say them Huxtable women were special!) - but when I saw this awesome guy with sunglasses making a bunch of neat sounds with his machines...rocked my impressionable childhood mind. The Huxtable women's obvious approval of his awesomeness further confirmed my reverence for him.

Fell in love again around 1999, when I actually started "seeing what the blind man was saying..."

O.K., I'm going to show my age here...When I was about 5 or 6 years old, the Stevie Wonder song "Send One Your Love" was my favorite song. My sister bought me the '45 (yes, as in vinyl...a record...I am a 70's baby and proud of it!) and I would play it over and over again on my little portable record player that I dragged all over the house and plugged in anywhere I felt like chillin' and listening to records.
