"It's a disgrace that the free world still tolerates the existence of a sexist, HIV and paedophilia stimulating state ruled by a crossdressing German dictator who was a member of the Wehrmacht. Immediate UN intervention is called for, but if the yanks want to do it alone again it's fine with me. There are only two things that can be said in favour of Vatican City: it has no maritime claims and the birth rate is negligible. The official one, that is. Oh, and the dictatorship is not hereditary, thank Allah. " Previous provocations (Still open for debate!): 1. "May 6 and 7 George W. Dimwit will visit my kingdom (a bloody nuisance: his security apes want to close down the whole province of Limburg for the duration). What should we do with him?" Michiel

ooooooh, you test us today!
Okay...first off, I am not nor was I ever a member of the Catholic Faith. I am a christian, but not of any particular sect/denomination/bend. I am liberally minded, where religion is concerned and do not believe it is my place or business to impose upon others my beliefs or prejudices. Many many Christians are extremely judgemental...organized religion is by nature, Judgemental. That is a fact of life. It doesn't say "Never Judge" it says "Judge not, lest ye be judge yourself". Which in my mind means that the Supreme Power (I'll leave that to you, gentle reader, to interpret as you will) understands that it is in human nature to judge. ALL of that said to make this point.
It perhaps is a disgrace to some that this man has been chosen Pope. However, that is a judgement call. If Catholics believe that this man was chosen by God then they therefore must believe that there is some divine plan at work. Who is to know the mind of God.
Second Point! If people who do not believe in God have a problem with this choice then it begs the question.....Aren't they guilty of the very trait they seem to abhore in Zealots...Judgementalism? If there is No God...then don't stress it. This man wields no secular power and controls no governing body, save the Church. People still have free will and can choose to follow his dictates, or not.

As to the toleration of a "sexist, HIV and paedophilia stimulating state....etc.", the World Tolerates all manner of atrocities. Slavery still exists in South Africa...Famine World Wide...Homeless Children walk the streets of America's most prosperous States...Drug companies prosper on the backs of the afflicted...murders are treated to a Hilton like existence in prisons...I could go on and on. Tolerate?? Hell, the World embraces evil...we wallow in it like swine.

As to the UN intervention...LOL...if other areas of the world are sacrosanct then I'm sure this "war" isn't in their Baliwick either.

*kiss*

(p.s. Thanks for making me think so early in the morning...my brain hurts...I need debauchery - STAT!)

Ignore my spelling errors. *wink*
