Current mood:  sleepy
"Titanic and LOTR* are the most boring and mind-numbing Oscar-winning movies ever." (LOTR part 1, that is: I never subjected myself to the sequels, as I didn't even manage to stay awake during the first instalment...) Shoot, dear ladies! Previous provocations (still open for debate!): 1. "May 6 and 7 George W. Dimwit will visit my kingdom (a bloody nuisance: his security apes want to close down the whole province of Limburg for the duration). What should we do with him?" 2. "It's a disgrace that the free world still tolerates the existence of a sexist, HIV and paedophilia stimulating state ruled by a crossdressing German dictator who was a member of the Wehrmacht. Immediate UN intervention is called for, but if the yanks want to do it alone again it's fine with me. There are only two things that can be said in favour of Vatican City: it has no maritime claims and the birth rate is negligible. The official one, that is. Oh, and the dictatorship is not hereditary, thank Allah. " 3. "Religious freedom should be abolished as a separate right. There is no reason to give religion even more protection than any other expression of irrational thought." 4. "John Grisham has written only one really good book: The Chamber. If you've read it you know the death penalty is a crime." Michiel

It's a Miracle!! We are in complete agreement!

I saw Titanic at the movies after a girlfriend swore it was the most romantic, best movie she'd ever seen. First let me say, I love period pieces....Historical romances are great too...this movie was utter trash. I kept thinking "when are they gonna hit that fuckin iceberg". The best part was after the ship started sinkin and you got to see the carnage. I will admit, the video of that swill did get me through the first 3 hours of labour as I needed a distraction from the contractions...but it just barely worked. I spent those hours saying "pfffffff" and "puhleeeze".
As to LOTR...yes, that first movie sucked wind. I didn't give a flying flip about the characters. There was in fact, very little sympathetic character developement. I will admit, I saw the other two. The second one is actually quite entertaining but the third is crap, too!

AwesomeRobin

I heard that at one cinema, people found Titanic so boring that they were cheering for the iceberg towards the end of it... I think that says it all (*tries to restrain himself from making a deeply cynical cackle*).

Great profile, by the way - good to see some intelligence being spouted on this MySpace thing.  Well I'm off to drink something that doesn't have an effect like a slice of lemon  being wrapped around a gold brick :o)

Cheers!  Robin.

Most big Hollywood films are boring and mind numbing, why do you think intelligent Americans are mad for foreign films?
