It had been a while since I tried a Coke bottled in Mexico but after trying one at a local taqueria today I have to admit it is better. In Mexico they still make Coke using sugar cane instead of high fructose corn syrup so the fizzy soda has a cleaner and sweeter flavor plus I like the retro slightly greenish glass bottles. In the US coke switched to HFCS back in the 1980's because massive corn subsidies combined with large sugar tarrifs made HFCS cheaper but something was lost. It's hard to describe but Coke made with sugar cane just tastes different; it's cleaner yet sweeter at the same time. I for one would pay more to get Coke made with sugar cane compared with the corn syrup stuff.
