howdy yall. the UNTIED STATES OF AMERICA has been screaming to all my taste buds. ive eaten 2 weeks of yellow and brown foods. i only saw apples shrink wrapped and abit of green with my pasta pizza. YES i had to try it and two weeks later i am still feeling wrong about the whole thing.
toronto is a great town. we played two shows made a music video and admired the alarmingly large amount of completley mental people walking about the streets. beccy had an incident with her shoes or her feet i am not quite sure where the problem originated.
montreal was far too brief but we had a huge tapas meal with the wave pictures, casio kids and the moshi men. a meal that wont be forgotten until it is surpassed. the venue was la sala rosa, we had to leave after we played to head back for new york and so after a little chat with the guy under the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA sign we were on our way.
new york was a really amazing show. it was the seaport festival. jamie t turned up. i wore a giant monkey suit on stage with casio kids.
after listening to franic talk about trail mix and pissing on a mountain we got to JFK to fly to LA.
we staged with jon bill and jacob from the mae shi who have a balcony view of the hollywood sign and downtown.
the spaceland show was one of the best on the tour. and then jetlag kicked and we got to the happy hour on a roof top party in skidrow.
mallets mallet was the game of choice in the van with us and the wave pictures and an occasional splash from michael and stephen. we learnt that dave is consistantly good at this game along with micheal, on the whole johnny and myself were quite bad apart from one golden moment somewhere between toronto and montreal which i have recorded and franic and beccy were unpredictable.
we stayed in clint eastwoods town, carmel by the sea. good chowder. bad service.
there photos from the drive to san fran. i dont want to do this image a huge disservice by trying to explain it, so maybe just wait for the photos.
san francisco as i remember was mainly salsa and margarita's. the best show of the whole tour by far. and sadly the last. casio kids were driving to portland we were goin back to LA. for their last song we all got on stage. the most unlikely group of people to play music together. wave pictures(tourist t shirts) casio kids(bow ties and frills) us (casio kids and wace pictures t shirts)
the drive back to LA was from 1am till 7am. we stopped for an ice cream in Oakfield at 2am which according to bill in the van after wasnt the smartest idea. i managed to stay talking or listen till about 6 am but i woke up and the sun had come up and the most beautiful neil young b side that i have never heard was on. i think it was called thunder. it was a weird morning.
