today i took my new girlfriend to the movies for the first time. i say "new girlfriend" because relatively speaking she is newest although we've been dating for almost 9 months. for whatever reason, she and i have never been to the movies together which is strange since we both like movies and i make movies. this was to be a momentous occasion. and it was. anyway, i took her today.

when i say "today" i mean ALL day. we saw five movies today. in a row, meaning one directly after another. we did it all for less than 13 dollars as well but that's another issue completely. my point is i now believe her to be much crazier than i, which is to say a very good match for me indeed. for instance, i know from experience that i am just crazy enough to suggest and/or try to sit through five movies in a row, but today my girlfriend outdid me by not only agreeing to my suggestion of seeing five movies but also by not complaining at all in the process. not once, the entire time*, unlike (to my dismay) every other girl i have ever dated. it's no problem really. i understand. it is perfectly natural not to want to sit through a shitload of movies in a row. that's why i'm so alarmed at this situation, for a moment today i thought she might suggest staying longer (which as it turns out would have been impossible) but i'm glad didn't happen.

sweeney todd (not so good)
i am legend (awesome)
juno (okay)
there will be blood (okay)
no country for old men (pretty good)

*she did complain throughout sweeney todd but only as much as any normal person might have.
