Hey everyone, It was a rather quiet year for us, but not without some more rock and roll highlights. We had the privilege of performing at the 2008 American Atheist Convention where the reluctant crowd was treated to an impromptu (and unrehearsed) version of "Highway To Hell", and the Official Kwang BIBLE OF ROCK AND ROLL was thrown out to overly cautious spectators. In the end, we were all praising Lemmy. In a bittersweet moment of Kwang history, the band finally got their chance to play the Main Stage at First Avenue in honor of our fallen leader, the Godfather of Minneapolis metal, Earl Root. We're not sure if we have ever been involved in a more intense and emotional performance, where the band led the crowd in a sing along of "War Pigs" directed toward the heavens (and hells).We miss you Earl, and you will be coming through our speakers whenever we listen to music for the rest of our lives.We also introduced the services of Nate Pischke on bass, where he has signed a doctrine in blood to commit himself as a permanent member of Kwang until the world blows up.Although it was a rather quiet year, our friends in other bands took over for us. Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Metallica, AC/DC, and Guns N' Roses have all released albums this past year, and all of them placed in the Top 5 Billboard Album Charts with 2 of the aforementioned bands hitting the 1 spot with their new releases. NUMBER ONE.Do you know what this means?1. Rock and roll is mainstream, boring, and redundant.2. Rock and roll = white trash.3. Rock and roll is for idiots with bad taste in music.Some people think we are simple, not very progressive, and old fashioned. In fact, we love change. And the more things change, the more they stay the same.So for all of those who regard music as "fashion" and buy a CD from a band who can't write more albums than we've recorded (2!), and love that totally awesome song on their iPod but can't name one member from that oh-so-wonderful band, take a fucking hike. Push some more buttons and appreciate your "art".We're doing just fine in our DENIM and LEATHER. Saxon rules. And so does Tony Harnell!
