Road Re-opens

We had a bit of a scare this week when the main road in here from Glasgow was closed for a couple of days following a landslip on the A83 at the 'rest and be thankful' stretch - but I am pleased (and relieved) to say the it has no re-opened after repairs and passing all the safety checks!

New RIB speedboat service from mainland

in the meantime one local man came up with the idea of ferrying in folk who couldn't drive here - he could ferry people in in his RIB Speedboat - probably too expensive individually but if folk club together to fill the boat it starts to get much more reasonable. The idea has proved popular with both tourists and local folk and so he will be making the service available from April to October. see http://www.arranpowerandsail.com/index.html
