Hi kids!
I bought a 1.5" button machine today and I'm excited to get it in the mail so I can start making buttons to sell at shows! One of the coolest things about this arrangement (compared to ordering buttons online) is that I can make as many designs into buttons as I want, very quickly.
So when I say that I'm having a button design contest, I'm actually going to be able to print as many button designs as I like. I'm looking for buttons that I could sell as merchandise for The Moaning Myrtles, my solo music, Armoured Bearcub, and even YouTube/devilishlypure/fiveawesomegirls-related stuff. The only requirements are that your design can't use copyrighted images, logos, or photographs (I'd need to be able to sell these without getting in trouble, so I'm trusting you to be original not copy or use things from other people) and that you follow this template:
Your design's main elements like text need to be within the dotted line, but the background must go all the way to the solid black line. This is because the round piece of paper I print out with the design on it will end up curling around the finished button a bit, and your main design might not be completely on the flat part of the button. Bad news.
Because I'll be making these with my printer, you can use as many or as few colors as you'd like! Be creative! I'm excited to see what you guys come up with and to start making these buttons! You can send me as many as you want, and while there is no deadline (I'm always going to be able to use new button designs), the sooner you send them, the sooner I can pick which I'm going to print and start making them.
To submit your designs (which should be in some kind of image format that I can open on a Mac like jpeg), attach them in an email to moaningmyrtles@yahoo.com
If you send me a button design that I end up using, I'll mail you a few copies of the finished button you designed along with a handwritten thank you letter. You'll also be credited for your work in the form of a blog or YouTube video with pictures of the resulting buttons. I'll welcome additional prize suggestions (within reason... I'm probably going to end up using a lot of these designs) if you think this isn't enough for your time and hard work. :)
Thank you guys so much!
Lauren
