All the romantic songs I've written up to now have been fictional, on some level. The emotions were real, but the details were made up. Not so here. Rather watch you die is the honest, true account of one of the most painful relationships I've endured. This person so damaged me, I'd never lift even a finger to help her. As they say, I wouldn't pee on her if she was on fire. That cliche actually inspired the chorus of this track, as you may notice. This is a black comedy tune, so be sure to not take it too seriously.
