"You can tell the DekOIZ have been around for a while. The hard, fast and decidedly aggressive band sounds like a less-commercial Pantera, or, for you REAL old schoolers, the best of Fear and the Exploited. They can also actually play their instruments, something less common than it sounds these days in the genre..... Boasting over a decade of experience, the self-styled San Francisco street punk band believes the music stands for itself. Thus, no pictures of hairstyles, tattoos and clothing, like every other corporate punk poser. But there will be a web site after Sept. 1st. Killer tracks on the disk, recorded in June at the House of Faith in Oakland, include "I Hate You" and "No Honor, No Pride." There's also a remake of "Killing Me Softly With His Song." Just kidding on that last one. The DekOIZ are definitely going to sell soem records in their touring area, possibly beyond." The Dekoiz are from California and this CD was a lot better than I expected, to be fair. Not your bog-standard Oi album you'd expect from the name and title. Low and gritty vocals. More dark sounding Oi-core mixed with Psychobilly. Confused? Just give it a listen, I really like it. - THE FULL BOLLOX (CLICK HERE)
"...they have more hardcore edge to them, although the 2nd track started as if it was going to be "Emergency" by Infa Riot, it then kicked in at 100 mph. This is good stuff and certainly a refreshing change from all the pop punk crap that's around at the moment." - PUNK & OI IN THE UK (CLICK HERE)
San Francisco Street Punk from an upcoming band. Stands close to Condemned 84, Reducers and Blood for Blood in musical style, but they're quick to distance themselves from any political leanings. There's a strong Hardcore side to the Dekoiz as well as the straight up Oi! mode they slip back to in each song. Some of the pace is a notch too fast for me to be appreciated as Oi! as this type of music is played better mid pace. For a first shot on disc though, it displays plenty of promise. - RIOT 77
Debut Demo from the DekOIz out of CA and well good it is too. Street Punk with a Rock'n'Roll Twist and plenty of guts to back it up. A little like Patriot and Stars & Stripes crossed with the UK Subs and early Exploited. Intelligent singalong lyrics with plenty of snotty defiance, theres not a lot here to dislike about The DekOiz. They're real 'Anthemic Oi!-Core' and I'm more than a little surprised we haven't heard much about them on this side of the pond before. -Streetcore Zine
"9 Tracks of pure honest to goodness Oi!-Core from Oakland(?) California, and I can just as honestly say that there isn't a track on here which I don't like. Just imagine the likes of Discipline and Argy Bargy charging like a bull in one direction and someone like Better Dead than Red and Cut Throat charging like a bull in the other and then meeting in a head on collision of noise, well if that happened you'd have The Dekoiz stumbling out of the wreckage, battered but unbowed. Shades of Dead Heros and Beermongers in here too. Real Street Rebellion for real Street Rebels..." -BlackOut
