The Players
Arlecchino- A philanthropist
Pantalone- An aging passionate leader
Il Capitano- A devil's advocate having fun
Il Dottore- The traveling helper.
Brighella- The self-loathing villain.
Inamorata Isabella- The raped run away from a loveless home
Inamorato Oratio- Son of Pantalone and love sick student, living for the stagekisses with Isabella
Pierrot- The wounded stoic writer
Columbina- A simple girl with a heart of gold. A true soubrette torn between two men.
La Signora- Wife to Pantalone. A mother figure.
Zanni- A lacky.


The Scenario
The story of a group of actors. Their travels result in the suicide of Brighella, the marriage and fall out of Columbina and Il Capitano, the cutting of Pierott's mouth, the death of Pantalone, and the end of an era.

The Place
On the road, in the taverns, in the royal theatre. Early 18th century.
