TRIPTYCH
is the story of Stan and Sara, best friends and working class actors
who dream of bigger things outside their small, Midwestern lives. As
the story unfolds, Stan is disenchanted with his hopes of being an
actor and is looking for something new in his life. Sara, ever hopeful,
prods him into auditioning for one more role in a play. An eccentric
director takes a chance on him, casting him as the lead in a surreal
vampire drama entitled, “In Morte Vita”. Much to their surprise, Sara
is cast as his romantic leading lady and as they spend more time
together rehearsing and share their first kiss, their bond becomes
stronger. All seems well.
Raven, a mysterious freelance
photographer, arrives at rehearsal one day and catches Stan's eye. In
spite of her beauty, Raven is insecure and hesitant about getting close
to people, especially men, preferring to experience the world through
her lens, spending most of her time alone and treating men as
disposable confections. This would not be the case with Stan, for after
a cast party, they connect and a passionate encounter prompts a
tumultuous romance and for the first time, she let’s down her guard and
opens her heart.
Meanwhile, Sara begins to discover her own
true feelings for Stan, realizing she’s fallen in love with him. Yet
Stan, ever fond of Sara, is caught up with Raven, as their relationship
grows and intensifies. But, then Sara's hard work pays off when an
industry connection offers them an opportunity to co-star in a motion
picture. Overwhelmed, confused, but hopeful to maybe see his dream
fulfilled, Stan now has difficult choice to make. A choice that will
inevitably alter all their lives forever.
