Fall Greetings

I wanted to let you know about my most recent music release: "Somewhere (remixes)"

When the idea came about of having one of my songs, Somehwere, remixed, I was a little nervous. To put your music vision into the hands of another person to "do their thing" with seems to be an act of pure faith... one which wasn't easy (is it ever?). Nonetheless it seemed like an interesting thing to do creatively and for reaching into another genre so I put my trust in the winds of the situation and let it go. . .

I received the 2 remixes a few months later while I was on tour in Amsterdam. I took to walking the beautiful canal lined streets with my headphones to check it out. I was more than pleasantly surprised with how Eric Kupper had treated the song. Its not that he added anything on top of song, its that he seemed to have brought his own good medicine to the table to put into the song. I find these remixes not only to be true to the energy of the original piece, but to have given it some new and larger wings with which to fly.

Please give these remixes a listen and perhaps you will hear on your headphones as you walk the streets, in your car as you drive the roads, or over speakers in your room as you move to the beat with eyes closed,  the wings that I am speaking of.

my thanks to Eric Kupper for his musical touch,
and to Jon Martin for providing such a bright idea and connection.

Peace

"Somewhere (remixes)," the first single from the American Mystic album, spotlights John Shannon's ethereal and contemplative lyrics and includes a haunting vocal intricately woven into the acoustic fabric of the song.

Two-time Grammy® Winner Eric Kupper has given the song his signature treatment, providing a rhythmic and sultry downtempo remix and reprise with lush accents and a killer groove that subtly highlights the minimal and expansive nature of the original.

Selected services will also carry the hi-resolution video for the original version of "Somewhere," replete with mesmerizing color panoramas, lushly shot by director and photographer Carsten Fleck
