Current mood:  weird
I'm excited to get the new tunes recorded.  Sharon and I have been writing and getting the stuff together for the past few months, or is it years?!  On some Tuesdays, some Thursdays, some Sundays, I would drive out to Sharon's house and I would play a riff, then record it, then we will sit and listen to it.  "This is good, this sucks, use this, try this, check this out, maybe we should put this here..." is usually how it goes.  After doing that for a few hours, we'll have the skeleton for a tune.  The true magic is when John adds organ to my "spastic riffs," Sharon's perfect voice and Nate or Tony puts down a drum groove and the tune comes alive.  I'm still recording ideas on my Fostex XR-7 4-track.   No quantizing, no layering 47 guitar parts...it's a game of "musical idea Darwinism" if you will.  Until the next time, rock on and lattuuh, Scott
