POWDERBURN LAUNCHES MYSPACE AND NEW VIDEOAustin, TX (September 8, 2009) –
As part of the promotional cycle in anticipation of the new album, ONE FIX, Austin-based metal band Powderburn is set to launch a completely redesigned website - located on MySpace, with brand new content and album-related information. Previous to this launch, the band’s MySpace page had become a teaser page for the record, displaying the album cover prominently and giving fans a sneak peek at the new record. Also making its world debut on the new page is the video teaser for the ONE FIX album, produced and directed by the Austin film/art collective Sneaky Giants.
"The video and website launch is the culmination of weeks of hard work,", says drummer Patrick Swift, " and we couldn't be prouder of what the merger of Sneaky Giants and Powderburn has been able to create, both in terms of the video and the album artwork. The team that put the video together and the equipment we used was absolutely top of the line, and I can't help but think that anyone who sees it will be totally blown away."
In addition to the album artwork and video being released for fans to digest in the wake of the new record's upcoming release, the band is offering several pre-sale package deals on the new myspace page. Fans can buy the physical cd, followed by package deals of varying scale - including a download card with rare and unreleased tracks, a limited-edition, package-exclusive album t-shirt, and One Fix guitar picks, buttons, and stickers. The top package features an 80 page limited edition hardcover book, containing a complete documentation of the album process, from writing and recording to shooting the video and releasing the record, all captured in pictures and interviews with both the band and support personnel. These pre-order packages will ship around a week before the physical release, allowing those fans who pre-order access to the record before anyone who buys it in a store or at a show.
“When the idea came up to do album packages we knew we didn’t want to do it unless we made it super cool.", says singer Ken Lockman, "We ended up spending a lot of time creating, taking meetings, and tweaking these packages until we knew it’s something we’d all love to get from our favorite bands. The album, the cover artwork, the video, these packages - I haven’t been this excited in a long time. ”
The MySpace redesign, video, and pre-order packages all lead up to the release of ONE FIX, which drops the last week of October. Powderburn will be playing album release shows in Austin, San Antonio, and Houston, and will tour behind the album throughout the fall and winter of 2009.
