He breathed in, and not oxygen,
Not life in breath was found.
He found only flame
To burn it all away.
To burn it all to the ground.
Lips move to form words begging,
Pleading, and coercing a smile
From lips curling only into a snarl.
A bitter taste of sweetest thoughts
Rending the flesh meant to caress.
A burning laceration is left
In a hole there only to see
A rememberance of me.
Staring into a fading sun setting,
Leading to dark abiding while
Wings unfurling to be gnarled
Into shapes never meant to fly.
Portending night sent to opress
And finding salvation bereft
In a soul there only to be
Abandoned,
Forgotten
By me.
I swore that I would be strong
And convulse in violence,
To step into the fire.
I swore that I would stand
But only sat in silence,
As flames grow ever higher.
