Current mood: contemplative
...to steal the title from Chuck's blog of a year ago. Anyway... It seems like New Year's wasn't that long ago, and January has almost slipped away. So much has changed for me since I finished school back in August. Come to think of it, all those changes that started then might be leading up to many new and exciting things this year. In the last six months, I have: -Finished school and earned a Bachelor's degree in communications. -Entered into a long term relationship for the first time. -Started a musical project that may actually have legs. At the very least, we should get some recordings and gigs out of it. The songwriting is coming along fantastically. -Found a new job that will be full-time every week, also new to me. So, I guess you could put it this way: six months ago, I was a full-time student with a part-time job with no girl or band to call my own. Now, six months later, I'm a bandmate, a boyfriend, a full-time employee, and no longer a student. As if all that wasn't enough, I'm also about 20 pounds lighter than I was six months ago, and 60 pounds lighter than I was 3 and a half years ago. Pretty drastic shift, huh? Time keeps chugging along, too. It feels like time keeps moving exponentially faster the older I get (and yes, I realize that 24 is not old; not at all). And I know it's not just me. I've had this discussion with my dad, and he always says the same thing: it doesn't slow down. That's why I need to see every day this year as an opportunity to accomplish something. Hopefully, a lot of the creative ambitions I've had for a while now will be realized this year. A lot of people I know think that 2007 is going to be a big year in a lot of ways, and I would like to be part of that. We'll see how it plays out.
