Sorry it's taken me so long to post - I did, however, want to share a few photos from my trip to NC and TN June 26th - 30th.
It all started in Saluda, NC at The Purple Onion Cafe - wow ! This place is awesome. I didn't get any pictures from the night but just wanted to share what a great time I had. My wife and I did stop at this little BBQ place also in Saluda on Friday morning (well, before almost dying - we attempted to go tubing down the Green River - little did we know we would get caught in a vicious storm - it was nuts to say the least - thanks to the bus driver who came and saved us). Anyway here's the Green River BBQ place - a definite stop while in Saluda - just avoid tubing the river in lightning storms.

Next stop Rodi in Gastonia, NC - what a great place with great food, beer, staff, fans - it's got everything - definitely looking forward to going back. Look here's me - behind the guitar - come on, had to show off a little....

Saturday, June 28th, I was off to Brevard, NC to play at Square Root- got to see my old high school pal, Billy Berger (also an extraordinary mandolin picker) and a long-time friend, Tommy Moneymaker. Don't get to see those guys enough.
Sunday I played in Weaverville at Blue Mountain Pizza - can't say this is the best experience I've ever had as a musician - quite loud - to say the least - but the pizza was really good and the staff was quite friendly - I'd go back.
Monday, June 30th - I finally made it to Knoxville - started off at noon at the local radio station, WDVX, at their "Blue Plate Special" - split the show with musicians, Brian Ashley Jones and Tisha Simeral out of Nashville - they put on a good show - learn more at www.myspace.com/brianashleyjones

Almost forgot - here's me playing my mandolin horn at WDVX- people seemed to get a kick out of the image - I wonder why.....

That night it was on to Preservation Pub also in Knoxville - here's where I split the bill with the band, The New Time, out of Philadelphia(http://www.myspace.com/johndavidson) - I was more than impressed with these guys - they are great entertainers to say the least - hopefully our paths will cross again. Check them out - here's several pictures from the night...including The New Time dancers

Guess I'll include a picture of myself playing at Preservation Pub

And to close the night, here's me, my wife, and a good ol' shot of jagermeister - good times...

Take care all - thanks for the support.
