UPDATE: 07/22
Best In Show! Well, best in division anyhow at the Merced County Fair. I have been entering photography into the county fair for the past 5 years or so and I still have no idea how the judge photos. I have won several Blue ribbons before and moved up from beginner category to Intermediate now but this is the first time I have gotten the big ribbon. However, I turned in about 10 prints this years and some that I thought were great didn't get any ribbon at all or place low with a third place and such but such is life. If anyone has any info on how these things are judged please let me know.
Most Recent Work:
Roller Derby... I have a number of sample pics up from the very first derby bout of The Castle Bombers Roller Girls. I have followed these girls from the formation of their team and I am very proud of them for how far they have come and proud to call them friends of mine. I have a number of sample pics up now but all of the photos from the event will soon be posted over on the Castle Bombers page, add them for updates on when and where the next derby bout is.

Sin Valley Hoe Down... what a great show, lots of great bands and a burlesque show too. If you have never seen a burlesque show then you are missing out on some great entertainment. For those that do know and have asked, here ya go and more to come. For those that don't know and can't add too well, let me explain. This is my wife Justine, she is pregnant and our son will be due towards the middle of August and I am very excited! Also, this is why you will not see me at San Diego Comic Con and Dragon Con this year but we will see you all again next year.

I posted two quick samples from the 'Belladonna Beauties' photo shoot which I shot a little while back but have been busy and have not had time to edit any of them. Now I usually stay away from over editing photos and gimmicky PS actions but I through caution to the wind and wanted to experiment on this for a little fun. For my taste they are a bit too dark as my style is usually very clean with sharp colors and on top of that the MySpace loader degrades the photos a lot as well but all in all these are kinda fun.

Merced, CA at dusk, 05-15-09. OK, every photographer or student photographer in Merced shoots the old tower theater in downtown and I have resisted shooting it for many years. But I couldn't resist trying on my new lens and seeing what I could get real quick when I was at the downtown 'Cap and Town' event.
Tech notes, no tripod just hand held from about a half a block away.
