This summer has been amazing, and taken me to many amazing places. I moved to Portland, OR, in July, and have been breaking into that scene slowly... two weeks ago I went back to Minneapolis and played a super fun show at the Minnesota Zoo. I even got stung by a bee on my way to the stage! Yay! (ouch). I also got to do a short set live on Minnesota Public Radio with Mary Lucia, from the State Fair. That was actually the highlight of my trip back to MN. This fall I have some mini tours, and will be doing a tour in November with a partially new backing band- Mike Lewis (Happy Apple, Andrew Bird, Alpha Consumer) on bass, Jeremy Ylvisaker (Andrew Bird, Alpha Consumer, Redstart) will be joining me on guitar, along with my drummer Luke Anderson (vet HB band, Chris Koza). I am very excited to play those shows!
Next week I will be at the Doug Fir Lounge with a lady called Hanne Hukkelberg, who I played a show with in Chicago last year, and she's rad. Then I'm heading to San francisco and LA for a couple of solo shows.
So, I confess to this: I am not a huge fan of myspace (or, myspace spam). When I first started using it a long time ago, I was pretty excited about it, but ever since I gave into that darn Facebook, I feel like myspace plus facebook plus other email account equals too much time on the computer. I know, wah, wah. Mostly I use myspace to check out other band's music, and that part of it I really like. Therefore, if you write or have written me an email on myspace, most likely I will not get it for a while or someone else from the HB team will answer it. If you'd like to get ahold of me for business purposes, I beg you to not write me on myspace or facebook- please get ahold of my manager or booking agent, as both of their emails are on myspace and my website. If you are just writing to say hey or have a funny story or request for lyrics, etc, go to my facebook account:

Anyway, I am working on finishing up the writing for my next record (about half way done!) and hopefully figuring out where and when to record. I want to have a new record out by next Spring/early Summer!
Thanks for reading.
until next time,
