After careful consideration of the data I have made up my mind and selected the product mix for the business. It is different than the original list that I had thought with sours, gummies, jelly beans, gum, mints, licorice, lollipops, bulk, nostalgia, and sugar free.
I am willing to take chances. These are not your average candies, but its not the average store, nor I will have the average customers. The majority are latinos/ hispanics, (We are such a bunch of sweet tooths, is not even funny!), followed by african-americans and then caucasians.
The information for the product mix was obtained from National Candy Assotiation. I'm hoping and praying for the customer support. This is a make or break decision. Using this info, I can give the business the other facet that is usually involved in this type of business, the gift basket.
Can't deny it. I can't wrap a gift (much less a basket). What can I do then? Gift boxes. Beautiful boxes thoughfully prepared for each occasion with the products that I have available.
One of my goals to accomplish is also to offer a candy buffet. It will add a new dimension to the business (an unexpected one, big advantage). I can provide this for birthdays, graduations, meetings; there is no limit!
Also I want to reach the business to business customers. With this mix of products (i'm banking heavily in the variety here, please bear with me.) I want to attarct them to the ideas of variety, unexpected, tasty...and I want to package them (the candies of course) so they are visually attracted to the colors, shapes. I think that there is something for everybody in candies.
BTW there is something for everybody in the world too.
