For some of you, this producer/songwriter thing came as a surprise.
I’ve always wanted to be behind the scenes….ALWAYS. I know you’re saying, "well if you wanted to be behind the scenes, then why the F@%* would you audition for a reality show? Why’d you audition for a boy band?" Well, to answer that…..
A) I needed a foot in the music business door. mission accomplished…a big ass foot got wedged up in the door.
B) Making the Band documented the making of a music group and I’m a pretty good singer/dancer. I mean, at least my mom thinks so. I was strictly a singer/dancer on MTB, which is perfect for a music group but if you’re casting a reality tv show….they want the drama beeotch. MTB w/out the singing & dancing would just be the REAL WORLD, right? And there is no way in hell that I would ever get cast on the REAL WORLD.
FUN FACT: before I auditioned for MTB, I sent in an audition tape to the REAL WORLD. It was so out of character for me and it truly would’ve have been a disaster! This is the true story of 6 strangers and 1 recluse who has never drank or smoked, is afraid of crowds, and enjoys quiet nights alone channel surfing.
Btw, I might’ve sucked on the REAL WORLD but lemme go on the record and say I would’ve kicked ass on the RW/RR GAUNTLET CHALLENGE thingy that they got now PERIOD
TOTALLY RANDOM QUESTION: Is it necessary to put the actual punctuation "." after ending the phrase with the emphatic word "PERIOD" ??? You tell me.
C) I thought that being on a reality show would be kinda cool. Well all I can say to that is…I was dead wrong. It’s cool for some people but it sucked for me. The performing, recording, singing, dancing, and traveling was me. The reality show, the interviews, and the photoshoots were not a good look.
D) I thought I could be entertaining on television. We were but I wasn’t. Go back and check your MTB archives…..i was hardly ever on that show and that was the way I wanted it. The 4 other dudes in O-town carried me through that TV show picking up my slack. We all got paid the same tho, SUCKAS…..LOL. Bottom line, I’m boring!
E) How hard can it be to be comfortable on camera? Uh, really hard for me! On stage, I was comfortable. The recording studio, comfortable. The tour bus, comfortable (those beds are bomb). On camera, Not so much.
So in closing, I’m gonna be doing this producer thing for a long time so get used to it baby! I’ll never have a another reality show…..and nobody would ever ask my boring ass to do one again!
