That's right, you won't get any more reminders after this; we're sending you to collections!

Andersen ("Andy") Silva is bringing his left-handed Danelectro 56-U2 guitar and doing his 'singer'/songwriter thing for an hour next Sunday, June 21st (yes, it's Father's Day), from 5 PM to 6 PM, at the tiny triangle known as Duane Park, located at the intersection of Duane and Hudson Streets in TriBeCa, lower Manhattan.  The free set will be a mix of his original songs and covers; don't expect Linkin Park or Britney Spears, though.  There will be other bands and performers playing for free as well, at parks and on sidewalks and in front of stores in many locations at many times throughout the five boroughs on Sunday, as part of Make Music New York.  This is the third MMNY event, and the second one in which Andy is participating.

Getting there is easy!  From the MTA, you can take the 1, 2, or 3 trains, or the A or C, to Chambers Street, then head east on Chambers across West Broadway and make the right onto Hudson Street.  The second intersection you come to will be Duane Street, and the park is right there.  You could also take the M20 bus.  From New Jersey, you could take the PATH to the World Trade Center station; from there, it's just a few short blocks up Church Street, then make a left on Chambers, cross West Broadway, and make the right onto Hudson Street, and the park will be on your left just past the second intersection.  Or, if you're into walking, you could always take a train to Penn Station or a bus to the Port Authority Bus Terminal and start heading downtown on Eighth Avenue.  Somewhere around W. 12th Street and Bleecker Street, Eighth Avenue becomes Hudson Street, and if you keep heading down Hudson, you will eventually get to Duane Street and the small green space that is Duane Park, on your right.

For anyone who intends to drive, Google Maps suggests that there is an MPG parking garage at 121 Reade Street, and a Patriot parking garage at 308 Greenwich Street; both locations are only about two blocks from the park.  Andy doesn't know- wait, why am I talking about myself in the third person?!?  *I* don't know anything about either garage, but if you feel compelled to drive, those are your closest options.  There do appear to be a few other garages in the area as well.  Google is your friend.

I hope to see you there.  I know, I know, it's Father's Day... but my dad is coming, so bring yours, too!  ;-P  I know it's a Sunday evening, too, but I'm willing to hang in the City for a while afterwards if anyone wants to get a bite to eat or a drop to drink!  Oh, and check out the shamelessly self-promoting YouTube 'vlog if you haven't already.  Visit JoyInTheNew.com for more about my music...
