Hi Zen,

My review for your CD is set to go in the next issue of All Access Magazine. My next deadline is on Fri June 5 for posting Thurs June 11. Once I have the links, I will forward them to you..:) In the meantime here is what my review will look like..

Long live lyrical shred! Long live musical guitarists! Long live Zeni Danussi! Imagine being able to take the best of Joe Satriani's soul and lyricism, Steve Vai's inventiveness and modalities, Eric Johnson's impeccable technique and John Petrucci's progressiveness, and fuse them all together. Throw in Danussi's own fire, originality and intensity. What you get, is Zeni Danussi's amazing debut release, 'After Shock'. From the moment the mind numbing "Alien Attack" fires out of your speakers Danussi has your senses locked in with your undivided attention. There is no let down in the audio thrill ride that awaits you with numbers like, "Access Denied", "After Shock" and "Ragin Sinner" that are sure to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. While on tracks like, "Stolen Moments", "Cryin The Pain" and "Broken Tears" we find the subtle side of Danussi,
showing that even when he slows the pace down, he still sounds amazing without losing any emotional content. What distinguishes the really special guitar players for me is the emotion they are able to convey through the instrument, the tones they can get, their sense of melody, their ability alter tempos and moods and the ability to create a lyrical,
almost vocal component to their guitar voice. Most importantly, I need to hear songs! Take your time and listen to this album few times and you'll understand what I'm saying. Zeni Danussi's guitar playing communicates feeling. There is so much to like on this album for any guitar fanatic. The emotion and intense feeling behind every note is simply brilliant. The production quality throughout is outstanding as well. If you are looking for an instrumental type album that is not just forty minutes of a guy
playing notes as fast as he can, then the Zeni Danussi is where it is. There is enough diversity in sound and rhythm on this CD to have something for everyone to like. I am extremely impressed with Zeni Danussi's work and look forward to listening to more of his music in the future. Eleven tracks in all, ‘After Shock’ is an astounding instrumental album. - The Atomic Chaser

Zeni Danussi - After Shock (that the English rock scene ruled in the 80's - then sort of lost the market and what a pleasant surprise it has been to listen to a guitar player that technically is great and plays with his heart and that the entire CD holds the standard)

Hi Zeni,

The radio host asked about your CD. He really liked "After Shock" (said that I struck him right in the heart - that you have soul), so I hope he will look you up at MySpace. We talked a lot about guitarsounds and that Yngwie Malmsteen was a great guitarplayer and technically still is, but with no heart. He asked, if you sound like Joe Satriani and my answer was no that every musician "is his own". I dislike comparisons. If you compare, it is all Mozart on new bottles. That we do not need. We also talked about Jimi Hendrix and his guitar being not an instrument, but an organ. Wonder where he would have been today.
