Hello chums,
Hope you're all great, I am but I won't go on about that in case you're not, that would be cruel.
So its been a little quiet for a while on the Sadpaw front, but am pleased to report that no one has died and no country has fallen as a result of this.
So this year I've been mainly playing drums for various people, including Iain Archer, whose new record should be out by the end of Summer and is absolutely brilliant, check him out and buy that thing as soon as you can.
I've also been touring with Beth Rowley, who you should also check out, she has an amazing set of pipes, by this I mean her voice though she may also own some bagpipes or indeed some smoking paraphenelia that I'm not aware of, but suffice to say her voice will blow your head off but in a non painful way.
Also been recently writing and drumming with Duke Special, whose new record will be out in the Autumn, and its also fantastic, if you haven't already heard him, then do as you should my children.
Also, I've been doing some recording with the wonderful Foreign Slippers and playing some gigs with her as well, again, check her out on myspace and be wowed. Foreign Slippers debut ep is released on Izumi records on 8th August, you need to have this record, punishment will follow if I'm not obeyed.
On top of this I've been writing the next Sadpaw record. I'm getting a little ahead of myself as the first one hasn't been released yet but y'know, forward planning and all that.
Speaking of releases, I'll be releasing a single through Izumi records probably before the end of the summer followed by another and eventually by the album, hopefully before the end of the year so will keep you posted on that.
Finally, I'm excited to report that I've just begun work on a new band with my old chums Matt Jones ( Minuteman, Baxter Dury, Jamie T) and Russell Lee ( Midway Still, TDROK, Minuteman). Songs are being written at the minute and its shaping up to be a dark yet poppy beast that smells of yeast and looks like a bull in drag. I can tell you all know exactly what I mean.
Sadpaw will be performing at this years Grennbelt festival on the 25th of August, in Cheltenham, playing the Underground stage at around 5.45..
