The Broken Artist
When the world has broken you down, I'm calling you up. When people stop coming around then it's time for you to look up.
You ain't gone always wear the crown, it may be your time to give it up. Been living it up, touching the sky, fighting the world, trying to be tough.
Can't be what they need you to be. You want them to see you shine but you ain't free. Trying to collect dimes materialistically but how you feeling spiritually?
Death is consuming you, bought you with a price, cost you your life, now you're living a lie.
Don't think we think that money really is who you are. Nice houses, nice cars, you're living like a star.
But money burns, can be spent, millions can be lost. What's left? Your heart and mind. For them there is no cost.
Now you're lifeless, on the VIP list but can't quite get in. Thought you're celebrity friends and fashion trends would let you fit in.
Money can't make you better, it only magnifies your integrity. If you lack that quality money can storm your weather, ultimately.
This world has been tainting you, using you, draining you, spitting you out when they're through. When you fall from the top of the charts people then act like they never knew you.
There you go, back in the studio to prove to them that you're good at what you do. Why does it take them buying what you're selling for you to believe that this is true? Your gift is God given. Ministry lives on the inside of you.
Whatever it is that you do, you can change lives through it. You're so concerned with money you forgot your gifts are a line, God can speak through it.
Submit your will to His, He's got so much to say in so little time. God's word is divine if He gets the glory you always gone shine.
Speak to make a change, speak to the youth to make a brighter day. Forget about the money you make. One day it's all gone go away.
What's left? The next generation. How many roads can they pave, if you don't care enough to watch the stones that you lay today.
It's time for you to see your greatest quality is not popularity. In order to reach your destiny, peculiarity might be the best you seek.
Set your mind and heart free, be what God wants you to be. Don't be a follower, just lead. You may be the one to set the industry free.
This world's taken your crown, breaking you down. I'm calling you up. When people stop coming around make sure it's God and only God you trust.
Take the money you make and the gifts God gave to sow and build, into the lives of the young ones, so they know what it means to live.
