Tibetan Buddhist Monks will construct a Mandala Sand Painting & perform special ceremonies:  
You are invited to the Langroise Fine Arts Center to see the monks create this work of art one grain of sand at a time over several days. – Free Admission

Wednesday, Sept 17, OPENING CEREMONY
Noon – 12:30 pm, work until 9 pm

Thursday, Sept 18, Mandala Construction

10:00 am – 9 pm

Friday, Sept 19, Mandala Construction

10:00 am – 3 pm
Saturday, Sept 20, Mandala Construction
10:00 am – Noon

CLOSING CEREMONY – 1:00 pm

While the monks create the Mandala, the audience can create a sand painting of their own designed by a local artist and using some of the same techniques.  During the closing ceremony, the monks will distribute sand to audience members. The remainder will be carried in a procession to Indian Creek at 7th and Kimball and ceremonially poured into the water, dispersing the healing energies throughout the world.

Aaah... man, too bad I didn't know about this event... I would have loved to go. It sounds beautiful, and like lots of fun, too. Does anyone know if they'll be back in the Boise area?
