Another day, another show, right? Wrong!
As I made the drive home from Monday Nights Midway Café show in Jamaica Plain, I realized I would love to play music every single night of the week. I also realized I would be the most tired person in the world if I was to do so, but I’m sure I would build a tolerance towards draining every ounce of energy on stage every night…
The show went great, the opening act was a no show, for what reason, but Big Bad Bobby and the Shoe Horns were there as well as Ette. Big Bad Bobby hit the stage around 9:15 and played there set, it was their first show in two years… its crazy the moments they had together on some songs, they were so tight as if they played a show the night before… well Chris Norton had, but that’s beside the point, alas, it was a great showing for them after a two year sabbatical.
After Big Bad Bobby cleared the gear I set up, and got my shit into first gear, cracked a few jokes… Its always a test to see if the audience is going to dig you, or think you are funny, a few jokes in the beginning says a lot… I found my set to go a lot better than The All Asia show, no string mishaps, no mistuning, everything just seemed to flow and fit for me. It was a great experience playing on another stage, it limits that intimacy you have on a lower stage, but I’m trying to get used to it, and use it to my advantage.
It got late, and with work in the morning, there was no way I could make it through the Ette set, I am pretty sure it went extremely well. They are a talented group of musicians.
On the Horizon, I have another show this week, Saturday at The Channel Café,
Thanks a lot to everyone for your ongoing support, check out the MySpace, join the mailing list, get involved, and get informed!
Thanks
