Hi All!
I don't intend to start every one of these blogs with a comment about how exciting it's getting around here, but it is getting pretty darn exciting!
We're finalizing the artwork and have sent the master off for manufacturing! That means we should have the CDs next week!
Unfortunately, we weren't able to delay any longer, so we've had to move forward without the song from Meryl Streep. It's too bad, as it was a really pretty song; she has a beautiful voice. With a little luck, we'll be able to work out all the details to release it next year.
In the meantime, we are very excited, and very proud of the collection we've put together. All of the artists have been very gracious to give of their time and talents to make this happen, and I'm honored to have worked with them.
Two quick little examples:
Stephen Bishop released a Christmas Ep through his website several years ago. He's been kind enough to give us an original song, and his co-writer Jeff Jones took it back into the studio and has given us an exclusive mix!
Johnny Colla from Huey Lewis and the News went above and beyond, digging up their twenty-five year old take on "Winter Wonderland", which was originally sent out to member of their fan club. On a green plastic cassette. In 1984. Johnny carefully remixed the song and it sounds terrific!
Our website (http://www.socmusic.net) should be up and running in the next couple of days, and you'll be able to hear clips of all these songs.
You can also hear all the songs on this CD, plus tracks from Tina Lambert's "Christmas In A Cappella" and Lisa Kessler's "The Magic Of Christmas" on my Christmas station. We don't officially start until November 1, but we're already up and running, adding new music and making sure everything works right. So you can hear most of the songs from all our CDs on the air even before we get them back from the manufacturer!
Thanks so much for your continued support! And if you know anyone that loves Christmas music, please send them my way!
And may you always believe in Santa Claus!
Ken
