Hallo!
Here's some
gig news.
Gravenhurst and
The Capitol
Years - joint headline
shows
Did Pavement splitting up
leave an insatiable void in your life? When Robert Pollard of Guided By Voices
proclaimed "We are the kings of indie rock.
When we die, indie rock
will die", and then split up, did it piss on your musical barbecue? Are you
consumed by the gnawing feeling that things will never be the same again, that
they simply don't make them like they used to?
Friends, I have felt that
same pain. But now the pain has gone. Philadelphia's The Capitol Years will soon
arrive on UK soil to play seven shows,
including Glastonbury Festival. You may already be familiar with the band whose recent single ‘Revolutions’ was Single of the Week on Radcliffe and Maconie’s
Radio 2 show.
The shows in Glasgow and
Bath will be a
Gravenhurst joint-headliner, and I
will then be joining The Capitol Years on stage for some songs. I will also be
joining them on stage in Derby, and may make
appearances at some of their other shows too.
This is like the
advertising slogan "I liked it so much I bought the company". In this case, I
liked them so much I blagged my way into their band.
