Astral brings its 15th-anniversary season to a close with a "double celebration": a double-dose of double concerti, reuniting past and present Astral artists as soloists with Symphony in C. Under the musical direction of Rossen Milanov, Astral graduate pianists Simone Dinnerstein and Natalie Zhu perform Mozart’s lyrical Concerto No. 10 in E-flat Major for Two Pianos, K. 365. Current Astral violinist Saeka Matsuyama and Astral graduate cellist Clancy Newman engage in a subtle give-and-take in Brahms’ Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Orchestra in a minor, Op. 102. Ravel’s stunning Tzigane for Solo Violin and Orchestra, performed by Astral violinist Jennifer Curtis, completes the concert program with gypsy melodies and virtuosic flair. And in celebration of its fifteen years, Astral hosts a post-concert cake reception in the Kimmel Center’s Cadence Restaurant, open to concert attendees.
